Lancaster Colony Corp. Q1 Net Income Declines – Quick Facts

Lancaster Colony Corp. (LANC) reported first quarter net income of $1.35 per share compared to $1.48 per share last year. The company noted that the favorable adjustment to the contingent consideration for Bantam Bagels increased net income by $0.16 per share while expenditures for Project Ascent reduced net income by $0.23 per share and the Bantam Bagels impairment charge reduced net income by $0.03 per share. On average, three analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $1.60, for the quarter. Analysts’ estimates typically exclude special items.

First quarter consolidated net sales increased 3.6% to $349.2 million from $337.1 million last year. Excluding all sales attributed to a temporary supply agreement resulting from the acquisition of Omni Baking Company, consolidated net sales increased 5.2%. Analysts expected revenue of $342.07 million, for the quarter.

Highway near Fort Carson closes due to police shooting – The Denver Post

COLORADO SPRINGS — All northbound lanes of Highway 115 near Fort Carson are closed due to a police shooting.

The Colorado Springs Police Department said Wednesday morning that a least one of its officers was involved in a police shooting around Highway 115 and O’Connell Boulevard, just north of Cheyenne Mountain State Park.

The Colorado Department of Transportation said all northbound lanes of Highway 115 are closed between State Park Road and Cheyenne Meadows Road as authorities investigate. The northbound lanes are closed at mile marker 43.

Mace Wins House Race in South Carolina; Republican Pickup

Republican Nancy Mace upset Democratic incumbent Joe Cunningham in South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District, according to the Associated Press.

Mace, a state representative, and Cunningham had campaignedto the middle of the political aisle in a close race, two years after Cunningham’s surprise victory in 2018 flipped the Charleston-area district to Democrats for the first time in almost 40 years.
