FREYR Battery Gains 17% After Announcing Partnership With Hana Technology

FREYR Battery (FREY) shares are surging more than 17 percent on Thursday morning trade after the company yesterday announced a strategic partnership with Hana Technology Co. Ltd. in South Korea.

The partnership will develop equipment and automation solutions for FREYR’s Customer Qualification Plant in Mo i Rana, Norway, as well as for FREYR’s planned Gigafactories.

Currently, shares are at $12.28, up 16.18 percent from the previous close of $10.57 on a volume of 2,533,732.

Futu Holdings Gains 8%

Futu Holdings Ltd. (FUTU) shares are progressing more than 8 percent on Thursday morning trade, continuing a bullish trend in tandem with the market trend today. There were no corporate announcements on the day to influence the stock movement.

Currently, shares are at $44.02, up 8.10 percent from the previous close of $40.72 on a volume of 2,806,940.

Splunk Stock Down 12% On Quarterly Results, Outlook

Shares of Splunk Inc. (SPLK) are down nearly 12% on Thursday morning after reporting its second-quarter results and revenue outlook for the third quarter and full year 2023.

SPLK is currently trading at $97.27, down $13.09 or 11.86%, on the Nasdaq, on a volume of 3.4 million shares, above average volume of 1.7 million. The stock opened its trading at $98.00 after closing Wednesday’s trading at $110.36. The stock has traded between $84.63 and $176.66 in the past 52-week period.

Revenues for the quarter rose to $798.8 million from $605.7 million last year. Net loss for the quarter narrowed to $209.7 million or $1.30 per share from $384.0 million or $2.34 per share last year.

Looking forward to the third quarter, the company expects revenues to be between $835 million and $855 million. For the full year 2023, the company expects revenues between $3.35 billion and $3.4 billion, compared to prior estimate of $3.30 billion and $3.35 billion.

Oil Futures Pare Early Gains, Settle Sharply Lower On Demand Worries

Crude oil futures pared early gains and settled lower on Thursday, losing after posting gains in the previous two sessions.

Oil prices fell with traders weighing the prospects for the return of Iranian oil to the market. Concerns about outlook for energy demand amid rising possibility of a recession in several parts of the globe weighed as well on oil prices.

Prices moved higher earlier in the session, lifted by reports the OPEC+ could cut oil supplies.

West Texas Intermediate Crude oil futures ended lower by $2.37 or about 2.5% at $92.52 a barrel, falling from $95.76 a barrel.

Brent crude futures were down $1.33 or 1.31% at $99.89 a barrel a little while ago.

According to reports, talks between EU, the U.S. and Iran on the 2015 nuclear deal are on, with Iran saying it had received a response from the United States to the EU’s “final” text to resurrect the agreement.
