Ex-Brexit Party MEP June Mummery slammed the Prime Minister on Twitter, urging the Government to reinstate the 1988 Merchant Act. She said: “54 percent of UK fishing quota (a public asset) is held by flagships that are non-dom in the UK. These vessels contribute nothing to the treasury. Unless domicile in the UK they must go. Why has GOV turned a blind eye?” Her comment comes after Rishi Sunak vowed the Government would “get on with the job and focus on the people’s priorities”.
