Carrie Symonds all smiles with Boris Johnson as she’s pictured inside No10 for first time

Downing street released images of the Prime Minister and his 31-year-old girlfriend laughing together while sat around a table at an event hosted by the new leader of the Conservative Party. The event praised the work of carers, including hospice staff and those who care for young children. Releasing the images of the pair on Twitter, No10 said: “The Prime Minister was joined by six hospices, where he shared with them how grateful he was for the difficult but vital and caring work they do.”

In one image, Mr Johnson is sat with Ms Symonds who is wearing a colourful and summery yellow gingham dress.

Her long hair falls down over her shoulders and she smiles with her partner, Mr Johnson, who is also smiling for the cameras.

Followers of the Twitter page had mixed views on the pictures.

One said: “Good to see You and Carrie Together.”

The commenter added a heart emoji after the post.

Another, making a joke about the 24-year age gap between the couple, said: “Is that the PM with his niece?”

Another added: “Loving Boris being Prime Minister.”

A fourth commenter said: “That’s lovely pic.”

Mr Johnson and Ms Symonds relationship has not been without controversy, last month the police were called to Ms Symonds’ flat after neighbours reportedly heard a row.

It was reported wine had been spilled and that Mr Johnson had shouted about his laptop.

Officers attended the address in London and found no offence had occurred.

It later emerged that two left-wing activists had recorded the argument and sent it to the Guardian.

Tom Penn and his partner received death threats and are yet to return to their home.

Meanwhile, Mr Johnson and Ms Symonds also did not go back to their Camberwell flat.

Mr Johnson is currently finalising the divorce with his second wife, Marina Wheeler, who he married in 1993.

The couple announced they had separated last summer when it emerged the Conservative MP had started seeing Ms Symonds, who was working as the party’s head of communications at the time.

Ms Symonds is a former Tory spin doctor and welcomed Mr Johnson to his new role at No10 three weeks ago.

It was reported Ms Symonds was given the advice on being the UK’s “First Lady” from former Prime Minister David Cameron’s wife Samantha, according to The Daily Mail.

One of Ms Symonds friends told The Daily Mail: “Samantha Cameron has been giving Carrie some advice on living in No 10. They’re friends; she wants to help out.”
