While speaking on the Jeremy Vine show, former Brexit Party MEP Martin Daubney attacked Remainers for continuing to support the EU despite their failures during the coronavirus pandemic. He also insisted the EU were “disgraceful” for banning the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine as he accused them of making this a political issue. He added that Britain made the right decision to cut ties with the European Union as our vaccine response has been considerably better than the EU’s.
The Unlocked editorial director said: “I’m afraid no matter what Remainers say, the vaccine rollout and COVID-19 has proved that Brexiteers made the right decision to leave this.
“We were nimble, we were quick and we secured vaccines.
“This is while the 27 nation-states stayed all together.
“They were slow, they were cumbersome and three months behind us and now we can see third waves breaking out across Europe.

“They are caught in the headlights of not using a vaccine that is actually medically proven to save lives.
“The EU is putting politics first and that shows that they are a disgrace.”
France, Germany and Italy announced that they would temporarily be banning the AstraZeneca vaccine on Monday.
The EU nations have called this a precautionary measure after reports of a small number of individuals out of the millions vaccinated suffering from blood clots.
AstraZeneca: Expert slams ‘nonsense’ claims about vaccine
Multiple scientific bodies, including the World Health Organisation and the European Medicine Agency, have insisted that there is no evidence that there is a link between blood clotting and the vaccine.
The German Health Ministry announced the country will stop administering the Oxford jab after reports of serious side effects.
French President Emmanuel Macron soon after said France would also suspend its use.
The Italian medicines authority AIFA also said it was taking the decision as a “precautionary and temporary measure” pending rulings by the European Medicines Agency

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has said there was no indication the events were caused by the vaccination and that the number of reported blood clots was no higher than seen in the general population, however.
BBC news reporter Roy Atkins has explained the nations in the EU that have blocked the vaccine.
He said: “Last week Iceland, Norway, Estonia, Denmark, Latvia and Lithuania suspended the use of AstraZeneca vaccine.
“A small number of people out of the several million who had the vaccine had experienced blood clots.
“The decision was taken despite the WHO and the European medicine agency both saying there is no link between the vaccine and blood clots.”
