He celebrated his ninth wedding anniversary with wife Faryal Makhdoom at the end of last month.
The couple both took to Instagram to share throwback snaps and a glimpse at the day’s festivities, which saw them go on a spa day and enjoy a lavish dinner.
Yet Faryal, 30, seemed to anticipate a backlash over their relationship as she took to her Stories to send a strong message.
‘I have every right to live off my husband – he spoils me!’: Amir Khan’s wife Faryal Makhdoom hit out at their critics on Monday as they celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary
Alongside a cute snap of the pair she penned: ‘Fun fact – yes I live off my husband. Yessss I have every right tooo. Yesss he spoils meeee. Yessss yesss yesss now jog on with your boring lives [peace emoji] [sic].’
Faryal had originally shared a shot cosied up to her husband – who has a net worth of £30 million – that she simply captioned: ‘Happy anniversary baby.’
Amir, 35, also paid tribute to their union on his page, sharing a throwback shot captioned: ‘Happy anniversary Queen @faryalmakhdoom’.
The pair also took to their Stories to show off their fun plans for the day, with Faryal revealing they had kicked off the celebrations at the spa, while Amir shared a snap tucking into a lavish dinner at Nusr-Et Steakhouse in London.

The couple wed in 2013 in a lavish ceremony in New York in front of 400 people at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in Manhattan, with the couple’s big day reportedly costing $1million.
However, Faryal recently admitted she would do things very differently today, admitting she’d like a smaller ceremony to renew her vows to the sportsman on their 10th anniversary next year.
Speaking on the couple’s reality show Meet the Khans: Big In Bolton, Faryal said: ‘I wish I could change everything about my wedding.
‘I’d changed the way I dressed because I’m more in fashion now and I’m definitely more confident to be who I am and be in front of the camera all the time.’
When asked if she’d renew her vows, she said: ‘Maybe on my tenth anniversary [which is] in another year.
‘I think I would just do a beach wedding with a hundred people you know rather than four thousand people that you barely even know, and really enjoy it.’
Faryal and Amir had a second bash in Amir’s native Britain in his hometown of Bolton a week after they got married in the US in 2013. They invited a reported 4,000 people to the occasion.

Last year, Faryal revealed she vowed to make her marriage work when she found out she was pregnant with their second child.
The couple’s relationship was plagued by cheating scandals in the past but the boxer has now insisted that he is a ‘changed man’.
Past allegations of Amir’s flings included claims that he cheated on his wife days after the arrival of their second child.
He was alleged to have bedded beautician Sophia Hammani, then 22, after she met him in a nightclub.
She believed Amir was divorced at the time of their one-night stand, and only saw that he was married when he shared a family photo to Instagram.
The sports star rejected the claims as ‘nonsense’ on Twitter at the time, saying she was simply a fan aggrieved when he wouldn’t pose for a photo.
Amir, who is worth £22.5 million, was also said to have been caught on celebrity dating app Raya not long after the cheating scandal.
Family: The couple are parents to Lamaisah, seven, Alayna, three, Muhammad, two
