London's Metropolitan Police rushed to the scene alongside emergency services personnel from London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance.

The force confirmed the boy had suffered from life-threatening injuries, although they added that they are not currently treating the incident as suspicious.

"Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance. A 13-year-old boy was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. His next of kin has been informed.

"Enquiries are ongoing although the circumstances do not appear to be suspicious."

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said:4 "We were called at 7.49am this morning to reports of a fall from height in Titmuss Avenue, Thamesmead.

"We sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched a trauma team from London's Air Ambulance, which consisted of a paramedic and a doctor in a car.

"We treated a teenager at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre as a priority."
