Denver weather sets a record temperature on Friday with a scorching 96 degrees.

Unseasonably warm weather continues in northeastern Colorado where some new record-high temperatures, including Denver, were set on Friday.

The temperature at Denver International Airport, location of the city’s official reading station, hit 96 degrees at 3:36 p.m., according to the National Weather Service, breaking the city’s previous record mark of 95 degrees set in 2018.

A new high temperature for June 5 was also set in Akron, coming in at 98 degrees and besting the previous mark of 97 from 1938.

The normal high temperature in Denver at this time is 79 degrees. Denver’s hot weather will continue on Saturday with a forecast high of 90 degrees.
