The film’s IMDB page has also recently been updated with a synopsis and release date of 2025
In February, Deadline fueled speculation that the film franchise would be revitalized after reporting that Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B, would be helming the project, and saying that it was in early development at Warner Bros.

The rumors began swirling in the final days of Depp’s blockbuster defamation trial against his ex-wife, actress Amber Heard, 36. On June 1 Depp was awarded $15million in damages from Heard.
Since his victory on Wednesday, Depp has appeared ready to get his life back on track. He has appeared on stage playing guitar with rock legend Jeff Beck during several performances this week, and released a statement saying he felt as if he had been given his life back.

Nonetheless, some fans have expressed glee at the news, with one Twitter user posting a picture of the Google-searched cast list, but with a crown illustrated atop Depp’s head and the exclamation ‘YASS’ glittering beneath him.

Beetlejuice, which tells the tale of a recently deceased couple hiring a ‘bio-exorcist’ to scare away the new living inhabitants of their home, was released in 1988 to commercial and critical success. The original film starred Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Alec Baldwin, and was directed by Tim Burton.
Depp’s appearance in a Burton-directed Beetlejuice 2 would be another of numerous projects the pair have worked together on over the years, including Edward Scissorhands (1990), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), Sweeney Todd (2007), and Alice in Wonderland (2010).
