Flasher who wears ‘Sherlock Holmes hat’ sparks hunt after striking three times

A twisted serial flasher who wears a Sherlock Holmes-style hat is on the prowl in England, police said.

The sick pervert has struck three times this week alone in the leafy royal spa town of Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

Cops have launched a manhunt to track down the flasher, who exposed himself wearing the iconic deerstalker hat and not much else.

Detectives said the sicko flashed himself to onlookers at least three times in a two-day spree.

He is said to have been wearing nothing but a backpack and the deer stalker complete with flappy ears, made famous by Sherlock Holmes.

On Tuesday, September 1, the flasher struck for the first time in the scenic 78-acre Dunorlan Park, exposing himself to traumatised onlookers just after 5pm.

And later that same day, the man, described as being in his 40s or 50s and with a grey beard, struck again.

This time he flashed himself near Hawkenbury Recreation Ground, only a short walk from the first park.

The following day on Wednesday the pervert struck once more, again in his distinctive headgear.

He again exposed himself to a shocked dog walker at Hawkenbury Recreation ground.

Tunbridge Wells local Simon Vickers, 51, said: "This guy is asking to be caught really – anyone wearing a deer stalker is pretty easy to spot, so hopefully he'll be tracked down before much longer."

Kent Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward as they try and track down the sick pervert.

A spokesman said: “Information is sought by officers investigating a series of indecent exposure offences in Tunbridge Wells.

"Kent Police has received reports of three recent incidents where a man is said to have carried out offences in the presence of members of the public.

"It is alleged that at around 5pm on Tuesday 1 September 2020 a man was seen committing an indecent act in Dunorlan Park.

"During the same evening a man is reported to have indecently exposed himself in a wooded area in Hawkenbury Close (adjacent to Hawkenbury Recreation Ground).

"Police were called again on Wednesday 2 September, when at 6.15pm a dog walker visiting Hawkenbury Recreation Ground alleged further offences."

He added: "The three incidents are suspected to be linked.

"The suspect has been described as white, of slim build and around 5ft 8ins to 6ft tall. He was aged in his 40s or 50s and had grey facial hair and was seen carrying a rucksack.

"He may have been wearing a deer stalker style hat, with ear flaps."

Deerstalkers have become synonymous with famous sleuth Sherlock Holmes, despite the original books never depicting him as wearing one.
