The Queen will cut back on her commitments over the winter months as she struggles to get about as she used to, it has been revealed.

Courtiers will make sure the monarch, 95, walks less at public engagements, after pictures have emerged this week of Her Majesty out in public walking with the aid of a stick.

They will also ensure she avoids steps and cobbles, and that her car pulls up closer to venues.

This comes after The Queen has allegedly been advised by doctors to give up her evening Martini cocktail and drink alcohol only on special occasions.

The monarch is also thought to be hosting a smaller Christmas gathering this year, according to sources.

This means Prince Harry, wife Meghan Markle and the couple's two young children would be unlikely to join her at Sandringham in Norfolk.

Along with losing her husband Prince Philip, 99, in April, Her Majesty has faced controversies surrounding son Prince Andrew and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex speaking out against the Royal Family in their bombshell Oprah interview earlier this year.

A source has said the Queen is becoming "less resilient" and needs additional help – but maintains she is "doing well" for someone her age.

The source said: “The Queen has suffered a lot this year, including the death of her beloved husband.

“She is becoming a little less resilient and needs a little more help — although she is doing well for somebody of her age.

“Her courtiers have noticed the Queen becoming more weary and perhaps more fragile than she was — and who could be surprised?”

The Queen, who has told aides she is determined to carry on working, was first seen with a stick at Westminster Abbey.

She had not used one since undergoing a knee operation 18 years ago.
