Gang of thieves on modified quad bikes steal entire kitchens from building sites

A gang of thieves managed to steal an entire kitchen in the latest crime wave sweeping parts of the UK.

Criminals have fitted trailers to modified off-road bikes and are using them to commit thefts around South Yorkshire.

Local police have confirmed they’re receiving multiple reports of crimes involving quadbikes each month.

Examiner Live reported the number of thefts is spiking particularly in and around Doncaster.

The publication claims that in several incidents the robbers have made off with entire kitchens.

Using their modified vehicles the thieves are entering building sites and towing the kitchens away.

The gangs on quads armed with 20 to 25-litre containers have also been linked to a recent spike in fuel thefts.

The criminals are said to be targeting their victims and their premises at night and then making off with valuable merchandise off-road.

Police say this is making the crimes challenging to combat.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police's Off-Road team said: "South Yorkshire are receiving an increasing number of crimes involving quads. In particular where quads are being used with trailers to commit theft. Even full kitchens from building sites have been taken using this method.

"Doncaster in particular are seeing a spike in fuel thefts using quads with trailers similar to the ones shown in the photos. These examples have been seized recently from offenders.

"Most of this activity happens during darkness hours and their routes are mainly off road so out of sight of the public. This makes it a challenging crime to combat."

Police have now issued an appeal to the public.

A spokesperson for the force's dedicated Off-Road team said: "We are asking for your help. Any information will be welcomed and treated in confidence."
