  • BORIS JOHNSON PRAISES HEROIC FIREFIGHTERS

Boris Johnson has visited the fire crews at the scene of the Bolton Fire.

The PM praised the heroic actions of the firefighters who tackled the blaze at The Cube university accommodation.

He took to Twitter to say:“My thoughts are with all those affected by the serious fire in Bolton last night.

“Thank you to emergency services for your brave response.

“I have spoken with AFC Tony Hunter who is in charge at the scene, and we are doing everything to ensure they have all the required support.”

  • OUT IN FORCE

Protesters took to the streets of Uxbridge for an anti-Boris Johnson rally today.

In a slight blow to the PM, the small group of protesters marched through his constituency in North London.

  • HINDSIGHT

Today a Brexit Party MEP has said that “with the benefit of hindsight” his party maybe should not have pulled 317 candidates from the General Election.

It has been confirmed that there are 275 Brexit Party candidates running, after leader Nigel Farage initially suggested that his party would target every seat in Britain.

But Ben Habib has suggested that his party may have made the wrong decision in standing down so many candidates.

“Well I think with the benefit of hindsight maybe we shouldn't have stood 317 candidates down, with the benefit of hindsight, because the Tories haven't responded positively to it.

“They haven't stood down and assured a proper Leave mandate in Parliament.”

  • THE BIG THREE – WHAT ARE THEY UP TO?

Boris Johnson is thought to be travelling up to Bolton this afternoon to meet those affected by the huge fire last night.

Jeremy Corbyn is still hammering out the details of his party manifesto in central London.

And Jo Swinson was snapped spinning pizza dough at a cafe in London, looking rather like a professional.

  • SUPPORT FROM THE TOP

Both the PM and Jeremy Corbyn have praised the emergency services for their work to tackle a serious fire in Bolton last night.
