TRIBUTES have poured in for a "vibrant" and "popular" teenager who passed away after a freak accident three months ago.

Aisling Kennedy, 13, was left with a devastating brain injury after she was struck by the wing mirror of a van on her walk home from school.

The young teenager from Co Tipperary, Ireland, sadly passed away after what her school described as a "brave battle" after her injuries before Easter.

Aisling's family had previously set up a GoFundMe in order to raise vital funds for Aisling's treatment.

On the page, entitled Ashling's journey, she was described as an "amazingly energetic and outgoing girl" as well as a "dedicated sportswoman".

Presentation Secondary School paid a touching tribute to the "vibrant" youngster on their Facebook page this morning.

They wrote: "This morning we remember our First Year student Aisling Kennedy.
