BEIJING (Reuters) – China’s foreign ministry urged Turkey on Tuesday to stop military action in Syria and “come back to the right track”. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang made the comments at a daily briefing in Beijing.

Turkey launched a military incursion into northeast Syria last week, shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump ordered U.S. troops away from the area. On Monday, Trump imposed sanctions on Turkey and called on the country to stop.

Dutch Cen Bank's Knot: Expect IMF to cut world growth estimate

AMSTERDAM, Oct 15 (Reuters) – Dutch central bank chief Klaas Knot said he expects the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to trim its global economic growth forecasts later on Tuesday.

BEIRUT (Reuters) – Syrian government troops have deployed inside the northern city of Manbij, Syria’s Ikhbariya state TV said on Tuesday.

The broadcast showed what it said were residents of Manbij celebrating the arrival of government troops.

EU's Barnier says current UK Brexit proposals not good enough – sources

LUXEMBOURG, Oct 15 (Reuters) – The European Union’s Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier told the 27 member states staying in the bloc after Brexit that the latest UK proposals were not yet good enough, three diplomatic sources said.

Barnier also said he needed a legal text agreed by the end of the day to recommend that a summit of EU leaders on Thursday and Friday approves any deal, the sources also said.

Otherwise, he would likely recommend that more talks with Britain are needed past the summit later this week, the sources added.

Enough support from UK lawmakers to pass Brexit deal- parliament leader

LONDON, Oct 15 (Reuters) – There is enough support among British lawmakers to pass a Brexit deal, the leader of the lower house of parliament Jacob Rees-Mogg said on Tuesday as talks continue in Brussels to thrash out a divorce agreement with the European Union.

“I think the votes are now there for a deal,” Rees-Mogg told LBC radio. “There is just a mood in the country and politicians have to be to some extent sensitive to the national mood that we want to get on with this,” he said. (Reporting by Michael Holden; writing by Costas Pitas)

Google is expected to unveil a new Pixel phone with an updated camera and an emphasis on artificial intelligence features.

Google has already announced many details of the Pixel 4, including motion-sensing technology that allows users to skip songs or turn off alarms with just the wave of a hand. The new phone will also sport a more sophisticated way of unlocking the phone through facial recognition, matching with Apple and Samsung offer in their phones.

Google has an event scheduled in New York on Tuesday.

Google’s Pixel phones and other hardware products haven’t been big moneymakers. But they offer ways for Google to promote its services and drive advertising revenue.

There’s also been speculation that Google will announce a new smart speaker and wireless headphones.
