Harry and Meghan’s hearts are ‘in the right place’ but ‘too much seems like PR’

The Sussexes have been praised for having their hearts "in the right place" in their public engagements but are said to come across relatively poorly.

The couple appear to struggle between a fine line of interacting with public engagements and having "too much" of their outpouring "seem like PR", one expert has claimed.

It comes as news of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle accepting an award early next month clashes with Prince William and Kate Middleton's trip to the United States.

Royal expert Daniela Elser praised the Sussexes for "wanting to help again and again" but questioned why their public outings felt "like a bit of a PR play".

Appearing to criticise the staged-like photography that follows the couple around at their engagements, Elser questioned why their appearances felt like a PR move.

She said in her news.com.au column: "I suppose my point is, Harry and Meghan’s hearts are in the right place and kudos to them for wanting to help again and again – but why does so much of what they do seem like a bit of a PR play too?

"In August 2020, the Sussexes volunteered with the celeb-loved charity Baby2Baby helping hand out back-to-school supplies for underprivileged kids."

It comes as Daily Star recently reported a royal expert who fumed at the pair's public image and labelled their achievements as "fantasy laced".

Charitable acts from the Sussexes were blasted by Angela Levin, who claimed the pair should be wary of their future as it "could all crumble".

Expert Levin also questioned whether the pair were on the same level as earlier awards winners of the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Foundation's Ripple of Hope award.
