Heavily pregnant woman injured in fight outside takeaway as police release CCTV

CCTV has been released after a heavily pregnant woman was assaulted during a fight outside a takeaway.

Two men were also injured in the scrap in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, which left one man with serious facial injuries.

The other two victims, who were both in they 20s, sustained minor injuries, Stoke Sentinel reports.

Police said the fight took place outside the takeaway, leaving three injured.

Detectives probing the shocking assault have issued CCTV of a man they want to identify.

Images of a man in black gillet, wearing a white T-shirt with black emblems, have been released by police.

Sergeant Stephen Hill said: “I would like to reassure residents that this is believed to be an isolated incident and we are determined to establish who assaulted the victims and make them face the consequences of their actions.

“One of the victims sustained a serious facial injury as a result of the incident and another was assaulted despite making it clear that she was heavily pregnant.

“As part of our ongoing enquiries we have released CCTV images of a man we believe may have information to help our investigation.

“We also want to hear from anyone who was in the area on the night of Sunday July 12 and believes that they witnessed something which may help our investigation.

“I would also like to appeal directly to the man in the CCTV images to get in touch.”

Cops have interviewed one suspect under caution in connection with the attack, which took place on July 12.
