At least one person has been killed and others are trapped and injured after a horror train crash in Mexico City.
The shocking incident was reported by Spanish speaking media on Twitter, with emergency vehicles now said to be flooding the scene while some people have been pictured on train tracks being evacuated.
The collision is thought to have occurred between La Raza and Petrero stations in the Mexican capital.
Journalist Ciro Di Costanzo tweeted: "There is a train crash on Line 3 of the Metro"
While Martí Batres tweeted: "We are already at the scene of the incident, they report 10 injured people taken to hospitals, 4 people alive who are being rescued and apparently one person deceased. We will keep reporting."
Local news sources quoted Carlos García, a man on the train at the time of the crash who told Infobae: “A very strong impact was heard, it felt very horrible, people who were unprepared rolled down the carriages.”
Mexico City's attorney general also told local media that a full investigation was underway to determine how the collision happened.
Meanwhile, Secretary of Security for Mexico Omar García Harfuch said: “We would not want to speculate on a subject as delicate and unfortunate as this. The metro is already doing its own work to determine what happened, and we have experts working to determine the cause"
