The estranged husband of a wedding scammer has been left furious as she won’t sign their divorce papers.

Carl Twidale, 47, previously said Dana Twidale, 44, should be “fed to the wolves” after her crimes came to light.

The former wedding planner conned multiple brides and grooms out of cash before their big days, YorkshireLive reports.

After being accused of scamming couples and fleecing her ex-boyfriend out of more than £10,000, she vanished for two years.

But earlier this month Twidale, of Hull, East Yorkshire, finally admitted 26 counts of fraud stretching from August 2017 to July 2019.

She was bailed and will be sentenced at Hull Crown Court on June 7.

Carl, of Hull, East Yorkshire, has now issued a desperate plea to her to “let me go” so they are no longer associated by name.

He has not heard from her since she moved out of his flat and he now wants to make a fresh start with his new girlfriend.

Carl said: "I've talked to my solicitor and sent letters out to her mum's, her boyfriend's house, her flat and I've had nothing back.

"She doesn't seem to be signing it even though we've got no property, kids or money between us. There is nothing tying us together – just the last name.

"Maybe she is trying to get all this done under Twidale so she can then go back to her previous names.

"It's very frustrating and I don't want it to impact my future."

He added: "Let me go and just let it go.

“She has caused so much heartache to everybody and I would love to speak to her boyfriend to ask him why she hasn't signed the paperwork.”

Carl says he has been contacted by other men who claim to have been in a relationship with her over the past few years.

They have been estranged for years and he faced threats when she was first accused of fraud in 2019.

Carl said: "It has been really tough. I’ve lived my life in the darkness with no lights on and it has been tough.”

Speaking back in 2019, he said: “It was numbing to read about all the scams and I can’t believe she has done this.

“She is just wicked and it’s twisted – you can’t do the things she has done. It’s one thing scamming people but preying on their vulnerabilities is just wrong.

“I’ve started to question now if I ever really knew who she was. She was my wife but I just don’t know her anymore.”

After she initially disappeared, Twidale had reportedly been arrested after being pictured sunning herself in Benidorm.

Last year, she was spotted working in takeaways in Hull and was reported to have settled with a new boyfriend.
