Look ahead 2018: Rohingya flee Myanmar crackdown

In 2017, any number of governments and organisations condemned Myanmar’s campaign against its minority as ‘ethnic cleansing’. In 2018, Rohingya refugee camps in neighbouring Bangladesh are facing dire conditions.

    For the latest report in our series on what we think will be some of the biggest stories of the year, we’re in a refugee camp in Bangladesh.

    It’s now home to hundreds of thousands of Rohingya who’ve fled violence in Myanmar since August.

    The UN has accused Myanmar’s government of “textbook ethnic cleansing”, which it denies.

    Al Jazeera’s Charles Stratford reports on what the refugees face in the year ahead.
