The Royal Family snubbed Meghan Markle and Prince Harry but rushed to add Princess Beatrice's daughter Sienna to the line of succession.

Princess Beatrice, 33, gave birth to Sienna Mapelli Mozzi at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on September 18.

Within five weeks after Sienna's birth, the Royal Family posted the following update on their website: "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter on Saturday, September 18 2021, at 23.42, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London.

"The baby weighs 6 pounds and 2 ounces.

"The new baby's grandparents and great-grandparents have all been informed and are delighted with the news. The family would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care.

"Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well, and the couple is looking forward to introducing their daughter to her big brother Christopher Woolf."

According to the Royal Family's most recent update, Sienna is now eleventh in line to the throne.

However, the announcement of Meghan and Harry's daughter Lilibet took seven weeks after her birth.

According to the Evening Standard, Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor was listed eighth in line to the throne on the royal.uk at the end of July after she was born in Santa Barbara, California on June 4.

The Harper’s Bazaar US royal editor, Omid Scobie tweeted: “The line of succession on the @RoyalFamily website has just been updated to include the Sussexes’ second child: Miss Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor, who is eighth in line to the throne. She was born on June 4.”

A Buckingham Palace spokesman justified the delay as said the Royal Family website is “updated periodically”.

The Daily Star contacted the Palace about the difference between the two announcements but they gave the same statement.
