Neo-Nazi ‘stirred up racial hatred’ by using Adolf Hitler’s name as Apple ID

A neo-Nazi who used "Adolf Hitler" as his Apple user ID and urged people to start a "race war" has been jailed for inciting racial hatred.

Tobias Powell, 33, was handed a three-year sentence after Counter Terrorism Police caught on to his racist propaganda agenda.

Worthing Magistrates’ Court heard Powell published a series of racist and extreme-right wing social media posts between July and October 2018.

In the posts, police said he called for a "race war" and shared photos of the tattoos he had featuring Nazi symbols including the Swastika.

Powell also posted a photo of his dog performing the Hitler salute.

The police said Powell captioned the video with the word "sieg heil," which is the name of a victory salute used by Nazis.

It was heard Adolf Hitler as his Apple ID and he was found to be in possession of numerous pieces of literature about white supremacy.

Judge Tim Mousley QC was told Powell even wrote an email to Theresa May during her time as prime minister, where he accused her of a "Brexit stitch up" and called her a snake.

Powell also penned a letter to his local MP, Nick Gibb, complaining of supposed "Sharia law."

Sentencing Powell to three years behind bars, Judge Tim Mousley, said the 33-year-old demonstrated "abhorrent" attitudes to multiple "ethnic groups, religious groups, and people of different sexualities."

He said: "I am quite satisfied that you have demonstrated attitudes towards many different ethnic groups, religious groups, and people of different sexualities which are abhorrent to most people.

"I am also satisfied your views and how you expressed them is particularly worrying and deeply entrenched, they are far-reaching and they are obsessive."
