A host of the Peter Crouch podcast has finally admitted to blocking Prince William’s toilet during a visit to Kensington Palace while recording a special episode.
A new series of the popular podcast returned today (Wednesday, April 13) with the news that host Tom Fordyce would be stepping away for “family reasons”.
Celebrating his contribution to the past few series, ex-footballer Peter Crouch and Radio 1 presenter Chris Stark looked back on some of the show’s highlights.
This included a memorable visit to Kensington Palace, where the trio ordered curry and sank pints with Wills. And, listeners were given the chance to listen to some previously unheard audio from inside the royal walls.
In the clip, Chris could be heard kicking off at Tom, saying: “You’ve p***ed me off already actually.
“There’s one toilet here, and I went downstairs and you were clearly using it for a number two. So you’ve spent ages doing that, and I’ve just gone downstairs to use it after you and it’s blocked.
“And someone’s just come in after me, so they’re thinking that I’ve blocked the loo at Kensington Palace and I know it was you.
“The first thing he’s done, he’s come in and had a s*** so he’s clearly thought about it.”
Rather than pretend he hadn’t committed the offence, Tom doubled down, and admitted that he’d been influenced by the nerves of meeting a royal at such close proximity.
“I was saying I was sitting on the throne, which is something you can say about your own toilet, but not really in a palace where there probably is an actual throne,” he confessed.
And, looking back on the episode before he departs the podcast for the final time, the journalist took the opportunity to apologise to the Royal Family on record.
“Perhaps this is the point where I reach out to Kensington Palace and say: 'Look, the day that one of your downstairs s****ers was blocked in early 2020, all this time you’ve blamed Chris Stark, in fact it was me Tom Fordyce,” he acknowledged.
Crouchy interrupted, noting that because the trio met Prince William in his private quarters in Kensington Palace, it might actually have been the prince himself who got the blame for the blocked toilet, rather than Chris.
“Catherine may have come home and gone: ‘Wills for f***s sake, you’ve done it again… there could have been a royal breakup,” he added.
