Police warn convicted sex offender on the run ‘could be working at fairgrounds’

Police are urgently hunting a convicted sex offender who is wanted on recall to prison and chillingly 'may be working on fairgrounds', authorities have said.

Daniel Lomas is wanted by officers for breaching the terms of his release although the precise offence he has committed has not been revealed.

The 32-year-old was freed from prison in 2018 after serving a sentence for a sexual offence.

And authorities are now concerned that Lomas could be anywhere in the country and maybe working with a travelling group.

West Yorkshire Police said Lomas has links to Manchester, Lancashire, South Wales and London. He 'could possibly be working on fairgrounds', the force added.

An 'extensive' hunt is underway to find him. He is described as being of slim build and around 5ft 8in tall reports Manchester Evening News.

A spokesman for Yorkshire Police said: "Daniel Lomas, who is 32 and from Wakefield, breached the terms of his release in 2018 after serving a sentence for a sexual offence.

"Extensive enquiries have been made by police and partners to locate Lomas, who is described as being of slim build and around 5ft 8ins tall.

"He has connections with the Manchester, Lancashire, South Wales and London areas and could possibly be working on fairgrounds.

"Anyone with information which may assist in locating him is asked to contact Wakefield District Police on 101, referencing crime number 13180647040.

"Information can also be given online to 101 Livechat at https://www.westyorkshire.police.uk/101LiveChat or anonymously to the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111 or online."
