Suspect nabbed in deadly March stabbing of cab driver in the Bronx

Cops have collared a homeless man in the slaying of a for-hire driver in The Bronx more than six months after the 27-year-old was found fatally stabbed in his car.

Malik Evans, 24, was arrested Sunday and charged with murder, attempted robbery and criminal possession of a weapon, according to the NYPD.

Ganiou Gandonou was found slashed to death in his Toyota Camry on the Hutchinson River Parkway in Baychester just after 9 p.m. on March 2, according to authorities.

Uber said Gandonou was a registered driver, but it was unknown if he was driving for the ride-hailing company at the time of his death, cops said.

The New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers offered a $3,000 award after the livery driver’s death. It was unclear whether or not the cash helped lead to the collar.
