The Department of Health building in Dublin has been evacuated this afternoon, reportedly after an envelope containing a "white powder" was discovered inside.

An Irish police spokeswoman said: "Gardai are currently at the scene of the incident after the discovery of a suspicious parcel.

"Further details will be provided later this afternoon."

Fire crews are on the scene, and an Army bomb disposal team has arrived at the building.

The Miesian Plaza facility, on Dublin's Lower Baggot Street, had to be evacuated back in March after a suspect package was sent to then Health Minister Simon Harris.
