Three people killed including girl, 9, after gunman opens fire on news crew

Three people have been killed by a gunman including a member of a news crew reporting on an earlier shooting and a nine-year-old girl, police have confirmed.

A schoolgirl is among the victims in the horror incident in Florida as the suspect, Keith Melvin Moses, 19, allegedly attacked a news team on Wednesday (February 22) in Orange County.

The 19-year-old is said to have left the scene and shot at a mother and daughter inside a house.

Earlier, Moses is also alleged to have shot dead a woman which was the reason the news crew were in the area as police confirmed a news reporter from the crew died.

Sheriff John Mina said that Moses has since been arrested over the killings and that he was "an acquaintance of the woman" in the shooting on Wednesday morning.

He added that the suspect approached the Spectrum News 13 vehicle and began firing at it before going to a house nearby and shooting a mother and daughter.

Sheriff Mina said: "The suspect is not saying much so it is not clear whether he knew the news media vehicle but it was in the same spot as where the homicide happened this morning.

"He was detained in the area soon after the two shootings."

"We extend our deepest condolences to all of their families. This is a sad day for our community."

One emotional reporter spoke at the scene: "There are people here who knew that reporter, his fiancée and I were just embracing, but I will say this, it is nice to see all the media has come together in solidarity at this moment, this is every reporters absolutely worst nightmare."
