Urgent hunt for man who randomly attacks strangers as cops tell public NOT to approach him after hospital escape | The Sun

COPS have launched a manhunt for an offender who is believed to be a "significant risk" to the public.

Mahad Abdulkadir Mahamud, 26, has gone on the run from Chase Farm Hospital in Enfield, North London.

He vanished yesterday at 5.30pm, Met Police officials said today.

Mahamud had been detained under the Mental Health Act.

He is considered a risk to the public as he has previously carried out serious random assaults, officers warned today.

Mahamud is described as being 6ft 1in tall and of medium build.

He is balding and has black hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing grey jogging bottoms.

Brits who spot Mahamud should not approach him.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Ridley, from the local policing team in Enfield, said they should instead call 999 immediately.

"Mahamud has previously seriously assaulted another person completely unknown to him" he said.

"He is considered a serious risk to the public.

"Extensive efforts are being made by my investigation team to locate this man, but we are also asking for the public's help.

"If you see this man, please do not to approach or challenge him, but dial 999 immediately."

Mahamud has connections with Camden and Hertfordshire areas.
