Woman gives birth during high-speed police car chase

Tiny Ilina Head knows how to make an entrance. She was born in the passenger seat of her parents’ Ford Fiesta in Bristol, England, as her dad roared to the hospital at speeds up to 90 mph while being chased by police.

Marie Head, 40, gave birth in the car while her husband Ilian, 43, sped through red lights with two police cruisers in hot pursuit last Sunday, the Sun reported. The couple’s 2-year-old daughter was in the back seat.

Officers tailed them for 10 miles until Ilian, a building contractor, pulled into St. Michael’s Hospital in Bristol.

Then the cops blocked the Fiesta with their vehicles.

Ilian stepped out with his hands in the air and shouted: “My wife’s had a baby.”

“It was a miracle I was able to give birth while we were swerving across the road and speeding to the hospital,” Marie told the Sun.

The cop stood down when they learned what had happened.

“No further action was taken,” a police spokesman said. “We wish the couple well.”
