WWE legend Jerry “The King” Lawler has been hospitalised after suffering a “medical episode” in his Florida apartment on Monday (January 6) afternoon, according to reports.
Wrestling website PWInsider reported that Jerry, 73, was rushed to hospital after falling sick while going out to lunch with friends.
While the cause of his hospitalisation is not yet known, PWInsider said that it would not be sharing details of Jerry’s illness until his family releases a statement.

Neither WWE nor Jerry’s family have made an official statement about his condition at the time of publication.
This is not the first time the Hall of Famer has had to deal with medical problems.
Jerry collapsed ringside at a RAW wrestling match in 2012, where doctors declared he had been clinically dead for around 30 minutes.
He underwent a significant amount of surgery to ensure he stayed alive.
“The King” also suffered a heart attack in his Memphis, Tennessee, home in 2018.

He later revealed that he was unable to speak for three days following the incident, though he was quickly able to fully recover.
Fellow Hall of Famer Ricky Morton expressed his sympathies for Jerry’s current condition, writing on Twitter: “I hope my friend is going to [be] okay. Love you, Jerry”.
Social media users have already begun discussing reasons behind Jerry’s hospitalisation, with many speculating that the wrestling star suffered a stroke while out with friends.

Jerry, whose wrestling nickname was “The King”, seemed to be fairly healthy during his last public appearance on the WWE Royal Rumble 2023 Kickoff Show panel two weeks ago.
The former wrestler has held more recognised championships than any professional wrestler in history.
He has been professionally wrestling since the 1970s, though in recent years he has spent more of his time commentating on other matches.
